Baltimore County Expands COVID-19 Testing

Baltimore County

Two new COVID-19 testing sites will open in Baltimore County next week.

They will join the drive-thru site the county opened last week at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. It will mean there will be daily COVID-19 testing available in the County.

The county health department will run a walk in clinic at the Liberty Family Resource Center in Randallstown on Mondays. The state’s vehicle emissions inspection station in Owings Mills will be a drive-thru COVID-19 test site on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The drive-thru site at the Timonium Fairgrounds is open Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The county will be able to test approximately 320 people each week, but the county has had more than 2,200 confirmed COVID-19 cases so far, the third highest in the state.

A county spokesman said they expect their testing capacity to expand further. When the county opened the Timonium testing site last week it was able to test 30 people. On Thursday of this week, it was able to test 70.

In a statement, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski said, “These two new sites give us the capacity to, as they become available, perform significantly more tests in the areas of the county that have been hardest hit by the virus.”

Baltimore County Health Officer Dr. Gregory Branch said he hopes to eventually have enough test kits to get into communities throughout the county.

“Everybody might not be able to go cross town,” Branch said. “I don’t want people to be traveling so far, especially if they’re symptomatic.”

You need a doctor’s order and an appointment to get tested.

The addresses of the three COVID-19 testing sites are:

The Liberty Family Resource Center is at 3525 Resource Drive in Randallstown.

The Maryland Vehicle Emissions Program (VEIP) is at 11510 Cronridge Drive in Owings Mills.

The Maryland State Fairgrounds is at 2200 York Road in Timonium.
