Thread takes a unique approach to supporting underachieving high-school students in Baltimore – assigning up to eight volunteers to each of them. The volunteers do everything from pack lunches and provide rides to tutoring the students and helping their families avoid eviction. Our guests: Sarah Hemminger, founder and CEO of Thread; Derick Brown, an alumnus of Thread’s first cohort, and Jordan Wagner, a volunteer with the program.
