Light City Baltimore kicks off Monday, the first festival of this kind and scale in the United States. For the next six days, (March 28-April 2), the streets and sidewalks around the Inner Harbor will be illuminated with light art and light-infused performances. The gallery provides a luminous backdrop for dozens of interactive events, presentations and lectures by some of Baltimore's, and the nation's, most creative thinkers. Jamie McDonald, the volunteer chair of the event's organizing committee, talks with Tom about the concept behind the festival, and why it comes at an especially auspicious time for Baltimorians.
