GOP front runner Larry Hogan, an Annapolis businessman, was the last to throw his hat into the ring, announcing his bid for the governorship in January.
However he has quickly become a favorite, with experience in former-Republican governor Robert Ehrlich’s cabinet giving him a perceived edge. While many of his opponents are promising dramatic tax reductions, with two of his rivals claiming they’ll eliminate the state income tax, Hogan claims he will be more pragmatic in his approach to reducing the tax burden.
