Hometown Teams is a family-friendly and interactive Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition, brought to Maryland by the Maryland Humanities Council, which explores our nation’s love of sports and its connection to our culture and identity.
Five host sites will add their own unique companion exhibition and offer public programs that tell our state’s sports stories. The Banneker-Douglass Museum in Annapolis, Maryland’s official museum of African American heritage launches the tour on February 7, where they will unveil their new exhibition, Untold Stories: Athletes of Maryland’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
