One of Baltimore’s largest LGBTQ nightclubs - Grand Central - is permanently closing its doors after over 30 years.
In its announcement today, the night club’s management team said the COVID-19 pandemic has made operations unsustainable.
Just before the pandemic hit Maryland, developer, Landmark Partners announced plans to relocate Grand Central within the Mount Vernon neighborhood.
The club was recently penalized for violating COVID-19 restrictions after inspectors found 15 patrons inside the club when indoor dining was prohibited.
Around 30 patrons were also outside the club drinking alcohol.
An attorney representing the night club said these violations hastened its closure.
