Last Day of SA Race Heats Up

The last day of campaigning for Baltimore City State’s Attorney has turned heated. Candidates are leaving nothing to chance.

This morning, Ivan Bates threatened to sue State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby, Thiru Vignarajah, and the Afro for allegedly lying to voters about his record of murder convictions while he served under Pat Jessamy in the State’s Attorney’s office

On Midday with Host Tom Hall this afternoon, Bates and Vignarajah went head-to-head, while Mosby refused to participate in the debate.

“So when he said it was an innocent person, he plead guilty to murder that Mr. Bates is saying he is a defendant on. And I think this is the problem,” said Vignarajah talking to Hall.

"But those aren’t cases that Mr. Vignarajah handled the overturned case,”Bates interrupted Vignarajah.

“Okay, we are going to move away from this,” said Hall while Bates and Vignarajah continued speaking.

“He continues to lie,” retorted Bates.

While her challengers attacked each other, Mosby garnered endorsements from more than 30 Baltimore elected officials today including nine of the 14 city council members, and former-State’s Attorneys Patricia Jessamy, Stuart Simms, and Kurt Schmoke. Mosby and Vignarajah refused to back down.
