One Hour/Three Stories

We spend the hour with three female memoirists. Sue Meck lost her memory at the age of 22 following a traumatic brain injury; she's since spent her life trying to make sense of who she once was and who she became after the accident. Meck is the co-author of "I Forgot to Remember: A Memoir of Amnesia."

Then, writer Leah Vincent talks about how and why she chose to rebel against her ultra-Orthodox Jewish upbringing. Vincent is the author of "Cut Me Loose: Sin and Salvation After My Ultra-Orthodox Girlhood." Finally, Misty Copeland, the only African-American soloist dancing with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre, traces her journey from an impoverished childhood to her rise as one of the most successful professional dancers in the world. Copeland is the co-author of "Life in Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina."
