Folks of a certain age will remember the iconic cult TV show, "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman", from the 1970s, which poked fun at soap operas. Baltimore theatre artist Maggie Villegas has adapted the TV show for the Annex Theater stage. It stars Carly J. Bales as Mary Hartman. Tom Hall talks with them both.
"Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" is up at the Station North Chicken Box through Sunday, February 8th.
Villegas and Bales are both founders of the EMP Collective. There’s an opening celebration for a new “living drawing” by the artist Amanda Burnham there on Saturday night at 7. Gamble Cosmos will perform.
The Annex Theater is one of six local companies that has formed a group called Le Mondo. On Saturday afternoon, the members of Le Mondo will hold a community charrette at the Current Gallery. That meeting starts at 2:00.
Audio for this segment will be available by the end of the day.
