Baltimore Clayworks is delighted to present the 2024-25 EMBARC Fellow Exhibition, featuring the thought-provoking work of Kashima Robinson. This exhibition highlights Kashima’s exploration of non-functional sculptural ceramic forms, where mosaics, tiles, and intricate containers reflect themes of self-discovery and transformation. Their work invites viewers to engage with moments of transition and ambiguity, challenging perceptions and offering insight into the spaces between defined forms.

The Jewish Community Services Memory Cafe is the 3rd Tuesday of each month at The Edward A. Myerberg Center, 3101 Fallstaff Road, Baltimore 21209. The JCS Memory Café offers a supportive and welcoming space for individuals with memory changes and their care partners. Greg Boyer is a trombonist and horn arranger who everybody calls when they want to bring the full bells and whistles to their sound. Shortly after his third semester in college he joined Parliament/Funkadelic (a.k.a. George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars). Along with his searing, jazz influenced, quote-laced and sometimes humorous solos, he also gained a reputation as a master horn arranger, helping to tailor the distinctive sound of the P-Funk Horns. While he retired from the group in 1998, he went on to tour and arrange the horn section for Prince’s New Power Generation and performed with other artists including legendary saxophonist Maceo Parker, Sheila E, Bootsy Collins, Hank Williams, Jr., the GAP Band, Chuck Brown, Stanley Clarke, David Sanborn, George Duke, Marshall Keys, Alex Bugnon, Brian Culbertson, Richard Smallwood, Third World, Israel Vibrations, Patra, Crystal Waters and Dog Eat Dog. He currently leads his own group, The Greg Boyer Peloton, is regularly featured with the Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra, and is a first-call sideman for many of the area’s busiest bandleaders. Anyone who has seen him perform knows that Boyer not only brings a sizeable talent to the stage, but also an energy and verve that rubs off on all his fellow musicians, and the audience as well.

Each adventure consists of a series of locations that you are guided to where you are required to answer a question or solve a puzzle to receive your next instruction. Compete as a group, individually or create multiple teams and race each other. Almost all of our adventures are designed to be wheelchair and stroller friendly and all are carefully crafted to be entertaining and informative with something to appeal to all ages. Complete the adventure as quickly as possible to win first place or take your time and enjoy the journey. Price is per team, not per person. Groups can be any size, but small groups are recommended for the best experience.

A selection of approximately 40 paintings, prints, and drawings from the BMA’s collection explores the role of water and landscape in defining the early modern Dutch Republic.

The water’s edge was a site of rich and often fraught ideas, where environmental, economic, political, and social narratives came to the fore. It also served as a site of immense inspiration for Dutch artists such as Frans Hals, Rembrandt van Rijn, Jacob van Ruisdael, and Salomon Van Ruysdael, among many others. Landscapes depicting harbors, trade, travel, and leisure abounded, as did the production of maps, still lifes, and portraits. Together, these images offer insight into the identity of the young Dutch Republic.

This focus exhibition of 10 works explores the relationship between burning fossil fuels—namely, coal—and the emergence of European modernism. Drawing on research conducted by climate scientists and art historians, the exhibition presents a range of paintings and works on paper by Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, James McNeill Whistler, and others to explore the ways that their artistic practices and style emerged, in part, in response to widespread pollution in London and Paris.

Kristyn’s compelling ceramic sculptures blend process, design, and storytelling, reflecting on their Mennonite heritage while reinterpreting the nostalgia of Pennsylvania Dutch culture through a contemporary lens. This exhibition invites viewers to explore themes of identity, tradition, and transformation expressed through Kristyn’s unique artistic voice.
