For 2025, Fluid Movement is going to “Dive Into Banned Books: A Water Ballet of Resistance and Joy.” Wait! Water? Books? Isn’t that a rather soggy combination? Not this summer! Get ready for your summer reading program! We will be diving into “A is for Activist”, “Handmaid's Tale”, “And Tango Makes Three”, “Parable of the Sower”, and “Julian is a Mermaid”. Set in a library, we meet an upset parent, attempting to ban books left and right. Cue the helpful librarian to guide our inquisitive kids through our five banned books. Why are they banned? What can we do? Why should we read them? Check it out as we create an atmosphere of inclusion while exposing censorship and blazing into our finale of joyful resistance!

AUGUST 15 – 23
Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of Hedwig Robinson – an internationally-ignored, gender-bending punk rock goddess from the other side of the Iron Curtain. Following a massive scandal involving the world-famous rock star who stole her songs, Hedwig embarks on a quest to reclaim the narrative by telling her outrageous and unexpectedly touching life story – all while backed by her rock band, “The Angry Inch.” This hilarious, heartbreaking, and all-around sensational journey of acceptance, self-awareness, and forgiveness has been captivating audiences worldwide since its off-Broadway debut in 1998, and MET is proud to bring it back to Frederick after over 20 years. For mature audiences
