A Summer Celebration of America's Music

A Summer Celebration of America's Music

SODELO, Southern Delaware's own orchestra, presents "A Summer Celebration of America's Music," featuring works by beloved American composers on Saturday, July 19th at 3 PM at Milford High School, 1019 N Walnut Street, 19963. This is the orchestra's debut at this venue, the first public high school in Sussex to offer string education. The Milford High School venue concert is free to veterans, teachers, and students. Other tickets are $25.

These performances will be under the baton of guest conductor Stephen Czarkowski, an internationally recognized conductor and cellist. Soprano soloist Dr. Makeda Hampton, who has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera and the Lyric Opera of Chicago, will also be featured. The program includes works by some of America's greatest composers, including Irving Berlin, Aaron Copland, George Gershwin, Richard Rogers and John Williams.

If you can't make it July 19th, see SODELO' listing for 7/20 at Cape Henlopen High School, or watch for the orchestra's debut at Freeman Stage at 7 PM on August 12th, which will feature a few surprises.
