On Monday afternoon, Tom went to the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore to see its new exhibition of Islamic Art. It’s called Pearls on a String, and he spoke with the associate curator of Islamic and South Asian Art, Amy Landau.
The exhibition is at the Walters until the end of next month. On Sunday, there’s a walk-in tour of the show that starts at 1:00, and then at 2:00, there’s a panel discussion on the Muslim Experience in Baltimore. It will feature Harold Morales from Morgan State University and Saafir Raab from Interculture, a consulting firm that concentrates on cultural competency. The panel will be moderated by Alison Kysia from the Institute for Christian & Jewish Studies.
