Voices of Indiantown

With support from a Maryland Humanities Council grant, the Nanticoke Historic Preservation Alliance recently premiered a documentary entitled "Voices of Indiantown,"

based on interviews and photos of the Jackson, Pinder, and Robinson families, descendants of free and enslaved people owned by the Steele family on the Handsell plantation in Vienna, with screenings along the Eastern Shore and copies distributed to Dorchester County schools. Margaret Ingersoll, a Trustee with the Nanticoke Historic Preservation Alliance and Shirley Jackson, who is featured in the documentary, provides this commentary.
