Democrats and Republicans are setting the stage for a top-to-bottom overhaul of Maryland’s criminal justice system. We talk with Christoph Shank, the new Head of the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention, about a movement called “Justice Reinvestment.”

Then, Fort McHenry’s history didn’t end with its big role in the War of 1812. A century later, the fort was a major Army hospital during World War I. Plus, social worker, therapist and cancer survivor IsraelaMeyerstein on her book about the role spirituality can play for people facing serious illness.
