The CEO of Baltimore City public schools, Gregory Thornton, plans to cut more than $70 million dollars in school spending, including some teachers’ jobs, to close most of his budget deficit. He argues the state should close the rest of the gap – and tells us the big challenge is not next year’s budget, but long term.
