Baltimore city has released a new Bike Master Plan that could make cycling safer in Baltimore. It’s the first update of the bike master plan since 2006 and is now up for public comment. With us to talk about it is Caitlin Doolin, Bicycle and Pedestrian Planner for the city’s Department of Transportation. Also, with us is Greg Hinchliffe, Interim Executive Director of Bikemore, a cycling advocacy group in Baltimore.

Plus, you may have noticed a friend or coworker who used to smoke cigarettes now puffing on an electronic-cigarette, a small battery-operated device that looks a lot like a cigarette holder. E-cigarettes deliver a dose of nicotine – at levels lower than the harmful toxins and carcinogens that come with smoking traditional cigarettes. Dr. Thomas Sussan, assistant scientist in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, leads a team studying the health implications of e-cigarettes. He joins host Sheilah Kast in studio.
