The state on Monday announced a new round of grants to help stave off evictions in 17 Maryland jurisdictions. Gov. Larry Hogan awarded a total of $19.3 million — including a total of $5 million to Baltimore City and Baltimore County eviction prevention programs — as the economic impact of Covid-19 continues to slam renters throughout the state. "These grants will help ensure our citizens can remain safe and secure in their homes as we continue to respond to this global pandemic," Hogan said in a statement.
