Hogan Promising Tax Cut In Speech (BBJ Story)

The Baltimore Business Journal

Gov. Larry Hogan promised a "major tax cut" when he delivers the first "State of the State" address of his second term on Wednesday.

Hogan mentioned the possible tax cut Monday night while participating on a panel about partisanship and divided politics with Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf and New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu at the Parkway Theatre in Station North. Hogan did not offer any further details about the proposal. Some had been wondering how the popular governor would differentiate his State of the State from the inaugural address he delivered just two weeks prior. In that speech Hogan, a Republican, talked about bipartisanship and why he believes Maryland's political climate differs from the divided government in Washington, D.C. Political insiders have been speculating that Hogan will consider running against President Donald Trump in the Republican primary election in 2020.
