Loyola University Maryland's Sellinger School of Business and Management has named Thomas S. Bozzuto, chairman and co-founder of the Bozzuto Group, as its 2018 Business Leader of the Year.

The school will honor Bozzuto at the annual Business Leader of the Year dinner on Nov. 13 at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel in Baltimore. Bozzuto is known for creating the fast-growing Greenbelt company that has overseen the development and construction of more than 50,000 residences. The Bozzuto Group manages 70,000 apartments and builds more than 1,000 homes and apartments annually.

Bozzuto, the first in his family to go to college, has been a big proponent of higher education. He gifted $4 million last year to his alma mater Hobart and William Smith Colleges in upstate New York.
