The Rotunda Welcomes Back Popular Family-Friendly Concert Series this May
3rd Annual Rotunda Rocks Begins Friday, May 2 and Runs Every Friday through Friday, October 3

Grab a blanket or dust off your favorite portable chair and head on over to Hampden this spring for the return of the popular family-friendly concert series, the 3rd Annual Rotunda Rocks. This FREE weekly concert series, presented by MCB Real Estate, features live music on the Plaza and a street festival atmosphere with delicious local food and drinks, fun games and local vendors and will take place Fridays, 6-9 p.m. beginning May 2 and running until October 3. (711 West 40th Street). Whether you like rock n ’roll, folk, bluegrass, Indie, Latin, Celtic or reggae music, there is something for everyone and the event is open to the public. Roll for initiative! Oh Crit performs improv comedy fused with Dungeons & Dragons! Join them as they embark on an adventure of twists and turns, bizarre characters, and occasional epic failure… All with the help from YOU and the whim of an unforgiving 20-sided die!

At all Oh Crit! performances, we will be collecting food donations on behalf of the Frederick Community Fridge.

Explore the remarkable artistic journey and cultural legacy of Lain Singh Bangdel (1919–2002), widely regarded as the “Father of Modern Art” in Nepal. This collection of paintings—spanning the 1940s to the 1980s— reflects and reframes the cultural, political, and emotional realities of Bangdel’s time and traces his evolving vision as he navigated multiple worlds: colonial and postcolonial South Asia, cosmopolitan Europe, and an emerging modern Nepal.

Legends of R&B - Tribute to the Isley Brothers, Maxwell & Gap Band featuring Kenny Sway & Craig T. Dobson!

Kenny Sway is known as "DC'S Best Male Vocalist,” coming from Seat Pleasant, Maryland, best known for the viral videos of his street performances in Washington DC. Kenny is a very genuine artist, who became a real advocate for the black community in the aftermath of Floyd’s death, leading almost daily peaceful protests dominated by love, peace, unity and his music. He started out as a street artist years ago, serenading the streets of Maryland and DC, but he is still going out in the streets to perform for the people who can’t afford to buy tickets to his concerts.

Craig T. Dobson is a singer/songwriter, born and raised in Annapolis, MD to parents that were both singers, involved in music ministries. Craig sang in the vocal group, S.M.U.V. (Seductive Music Unique Vocals). The group had major success by wining multiple Radio Sponsored events. S.M.U.V. opened for major acts such as Levert, Wendy Moten, Men at Large, Hi Five, SWV, MC Search, Dru Hill, Brian McKnight, Sudden Change, Boys II Men, Kci & Jojo, and one of the last performances of the legendary duo, Ashford and Simpson. Craig released his debut self-titled EP with 9 Nineteen Music Label in Atlanta, GA in 2017 and received 11 Grammy Considerations for the Self-titled project in 2018. Craig T. Dobson is doing what he loves most, touching lives through music.

Kersten Stevens — Queen of the Violin — is a genre-defying artist and composer whose electrifying, luminous performances turn every stage into a sanctuary. A Yale alumna and six-time winner of Amateur Night and Showtime at The Apollo, her sound is a bold fusion of jazz, gospel, soul, and storytelling that leaves audiences moved, seen, and electrified. Her latest album, Queen Rising, co-written and produced by 8x GRAMMY winner Christian McBride, debuted in the JazzWeek Top 40. She’s been featured in Vogue, WBGO 88.3FM, and All About Jazz, and has shared the stage with Keyon Harrold, Kamasi Washington, Faith Evans, and Trombone Shorty. She’s performed for icons like Usher, Babyface, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, and Dionne Warwick.
