Throughout their storied 43-year history, the Yellowjackets have recorded 25 albums, received 17 Grammy® nominations – won 2 – performed countless sold-out tours, and enjoyed worldwide critical acclaim and commercial success. The Yellowjackets formed in the late 1970’s as the backup band for guitarist Robben Ford. Since then, and with the addition of Bob Mintzer, the Yellowjackets have gained and maintained prominence as one of jazz’s most influential and loved groups. The reason for the name Yellowjackets was it seemed to connotate something lively, energetic, and something with a “sting”.

If you’re trying to understand the future of jazz, turn your attention to Kassa Overall. Overall is a GRAMMY®-nominated musician, emcee, singer, producer and drummer who melds avant-garde experimentation with hip-hop production techniques to tilt the nexus of jazz and rap in unmapped directions.

On his new album ANIMALS, his Warp Records debut, Kassa pushes his kaleidoscopic, subversive vision further. He layers Roland 808s against avant-garde drumming in the vein of his mentors Elvin Jones and Billy Hart, the latter of whom he studied with at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Virtuoso musos appear alongside rap poets, including Danny Brown, Wiki, Lil B, and Shabazz Palaces. Top-flight jazz improvisation weaves in and out of orchestral string arrangements by Jherek Bischoff. The album’s diverse, all-star roster of collaborators includes several of his close friends, like vocalists Nick Hakim, Laura Mvula, Francis and the Lights, and jazz stars like Theo Croker and Vijay Iyer.

After touring with stars like Bobby Caldwell, Gino Vannelli, Jeff Lorber Fusion, Smokey Robinson and two time Grammy Winning Diane Schuur, Patrick Lamb is one of the most exciting break out smooth jazz artists on the scene, with five albums and three Top 5 hits on the Billboard chart under his belt, including the acclaimed "Soul Ties". Patrick's musical prowess continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

Lin Rountree, also known as The Soul-Trumpeter, is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. With a whopping eight solo projects and an impressive 23 chart-topping Billboard singles (including FOUR #1 hits), he has solidified his place as a leading innovator in the Instrumental Soul/R&B genre. Lin has been sought after by top artists in various genres, including KEM, Dwele, Conya Doss, Tony Terry, and George Duke, to name just a few. In 2012, he even made a memorable appearance in the hit film "SPARKLE," alongside Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks, further boosting his international profile.

RAVI COLTRANE is a critically acclaimed GRAMMY™ & deeply cerebral jazz nominated saxophonist, bandleader, and composer. In the course of a twenty plus year career, Mr. Coltrane has worked as a sideman to many, and recorded noteworthy albums for himself and others. Despite his family legacy and strong affinity for both of his parents' musical output, he has established himself as a distinctively engrossing player in his own right.

Ravi has released six albums as a leader. His albums include, “Moving Pictures,” “From The Round Box,” “Mad 6,” “In Flux,” “Blending Times,” and “Spirit Fiction.” Additional credits include performances as well as recordings with Elvin Jones, Terence Blanchard, Kenny Barron, Steve Coleman, McCoy Tyner, Jack DeJohnette, Matt Garrison, Jeff 'Tain' Watts, Geri Allen, Joanne Brackeem, The Blue Note 7, among others. He is a co-leader of the Saxophone Summit with Joe Lovano and Dave Liebman.
