The Rotunda Welcomes Back Popular Family-Friendly Concert Series this May 3rd Annual Rotunda Rocks Begins Friday, May 2 and Runs Every Friday through Friday, October 3
Grab a blanket or dust off your favorite portable chair and head on over to Hampden this spring for the return of the popular family-friendly concert series, the 3rd Annual Rotunda Rocks. This FREE weekly concert series, presented by MCB Real Estate, features live music on the Plaza and a street festival atmosphere with delicious local food and drinks, fun games and local vendors and will take place Fridays, 6-9 p.m. beginning May 2 and running until October 3. (711 West 40th Street). Whether you like rock n ’roll, folk, bluegrass, Indie, Latin, Celtic or reggae music, there is something for everyone and the event is open to the public. Known as the “King of Pop,” Michael Jackson was a 13-time Grammy Award winner, American singer, songwriter, and dancer. As a child, Jackson became the lead singer of his family’s popular Motown group, the Jackson 5. He went on to a solo career of astonishing worldwide success, delivering No. 1 hits from the albums Off the Wall, Thriller, and Bad. Thriller remains one of the best-selling albums in history.
R&B singer and pop artist Usher is an eight-time Grammy winner best known for his best-selling album Confessions as well as the songs “Yeah!,” “Nice & Slow,” “U Remind Me,” and “My Boo,” a duet with Alicia Keys. Usher released his first album in 1994, at age 15, and began dominating airwaves later that decade. In 2004, Confessions brought even greater success; his first No. 1 album sold more than 1 million copies in its first week and led to three Grammy Awards.
Kenny Sway is known as “DC’s Best Male Vocalist,” coming from Seat Pleasant, Maryland, best known for the viral videos of his street performances in Washington DC. Kenny is a very genuine artist, who became a real advocate for the black community in the aftermath of Floyd’s death, leading almost daily peaceful protests dominated by love, peace, unity and his music. He started out as a street artist years ago, serenading the streets of Maryland and DC, but he is still going out in the streets to perform for the people who can’t afford to buy tickets to his concerts.

Warren Wolf is a multi-instrumentalist from Baltimore, MD. From the young age of three years old, Warren has been trained on the Vibraphone/Marimba, Drums, and Piano. Under the guidance of his father Warren Wolf Sr., Warren has a deep background in all genres of music. Vibraphonist Warren Wolf is one of the hardest swinging virtuosos in all of modern music.

Award-winning vocalist, composer and music educator, G. Thomas Allen (affectionately called “Sir Thomas Allen”) brings a unique approach to the genre with his soul-infused phrases, paired with improvisation from modern-day stylizing to straight-ahead, classic jazz. His four-octave range and warm timbre are second-to-none and often compared to the likes of the iconic Philip Bailey.
Thomas’ work spans multi-genres, as a former Principal Artist of Los Angeles Opera and lead singer on GRAMMY-nominated album “Choirmaster” (Motown Gospel 2020). He has worked with the late David Baker, jazz educator and conductor of the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, guest soloist with the Black Pearl Chamber Ensemble, Royal Melbourne Philharmonic, and former member of Soulful Symphony. Other noted collaborations: Marquis Hill, Pharez Whitted, and the Jason Max Ferdinand Singers.
