Over the course of a multifaceted career spanning four decades, GRAMMY® and Tony® Award-winning NEA Jazz Master Dee Dee Bridgewater has ascended to the upper echelon of vocalists, putting her unique spin on standards, as well as taking intrepid leaps of faith in re-envisioning jazz classics. Bridgewater’s career has always bridged musical genres. She earned her first professional experience as a member of the legendary Thad Jones/Mel Louis Big Band, and throughout the 70s she performed with such jazz notables as Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon and Dizzy Gillespie. After a foray into the pop world during the 1980s, she relocated to Paris and began to turn her attention back to Jazz.
Strongly influenced by jazz icons Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong, both of whom she met early in her career, NEA Jazz Master Abbey Lincoln's distinctive vocal style, thought-provoking writing, and spirited personality secured her a place among the jazz luminaries. Over the years, she has worked with some of the biggest names in jazz, including Benny Garter, Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Eric Dolphy, Coleman Hawkins, Miles Davis, Jackie McLean, Clark Terry, and Stan Getz. The recipient of numerous civic and community awards for her work with the poor and disadvantaged, Ms. Lincoln resisted the bleak side of life to emerge as a genuine carrier of celebration through music.

“Dondria wakes up anyone who's been sleeping on her with pristine vocals, an incredible range and rock-solid songwriting and production on ‘Perspective.’” — Butta, SoulBounce.com
One of the earliest musicians to break through on YouTube under the name Phatfffat, Dondria turned viral covers and undeniable vocals into a major label deal with Island Def Jam and So So Def Recordings. Her debut album Dondria vs. Phatfffat featured the hit single “You’re the One,” which climbed toward the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and introduced her powerhouse voice to the world.
Today, as an independent artist, Dondria’s artistry has deepened beyond the spotlight that first found her. She is a singer, songwriter, poet, and mental health advocate whose work centers authenticity, emotional wellness, and self-love. Her current Back to Love era marks a creative homecoming. Following the release of her 2025 EP, she is preparing Back to Love: Welcome Home, a deluxe project that continues exploring vulnerability, aligned love, and spiritual growth. By popular demand, she is also continuing the Back to Love Tour, delivering soulful, intimate performances designed for rooms where every lyric can land softly and fully. Expect stripped-down moments, rich storytelling, fan favorites, new music, and the kind of live vocal performance that turns a venue into a shared sanctuary. She is inviting audiences into the next chapter, where love leads and every note feels like it belongs exactly where it is.
