For over 30 years, the William and Irene Weinberg Family Baltimore Jewish Film Festival has presented outstanding films of Jewish interest, as well as film education opportunities.
Join us each Tuesday this May as our 37th annual festival presents four engaging films that examine Jewish history, heritage, and culture, with film selections commemorating Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) and Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israeli Independence Day). Each event will include a special guest presentation at 6:00pm prior to the film screening at 7:00pm. Limited dinner options will also be available for purchase.
May 6 – STELLA: A LIFE | 2023 | Germany | Drama
Featuring live music in the lobby by Nicholas Bavani, along with a wine and nuts reception, and a discussion with Dr. Catherine Lewis, Executive Director of the Museum of History and Holocaust Education at Kennesaw State University.
May 13 – MATCHMAKING 2 | 2024 | Israel | Comedy
Featuring a personal matching opportunity with professional matchmaker Danielle Selber
May 20 – NO NAME RESTAURANT | 2022 | Germany | Comedy
Featuring a discussion and food demonstration with celebrated chef and rabbi, Nissimmi Naim Naor
May 27 – THIS IS MY MOTHER | 2023 | France | Comedy/Drama
Featuring live music in the lobby with Adriel Borshansky, along with a wine and nuts reception, and a discussion with special guests.
All films are presented in-person at the Gordon Center for Performing Arts, and are curated by The William and Irene Weinberg Family Baltimore Jewish Film Festival Committee.
