As part of our run-up to Mozart's 250th birthday in January, we're introducing a new series. "Must-Have Mozart" is a series of intimate reflections on particular recordings of Mozart's music. Our guide in the series is Nicholas Kenyon, who is responsible for broadcasts of the Proms concerts at the BBC. Kenyon has also written a book, The Faber Pocket Guide to Mozart. He will join Fred Child on Tuesdays to talk about a favorite Mozart recording.
The recording Kenyon picked for today's installment is a collection of three piano concertos with pianist Geza Anda and the Camerata Academica of the Salzburg Mozarteum. Kenyon talks about the first and second movements of the concert with Fred Child. We then hear the complete third movement. This a Deutsche Grammophon recording, number 447 336.
