United for Our Health Community Health Fair
United for Our Health Community Health Fair
Join us for the first United for Our Health community health fair hosted by several local community organizations including CASA, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Mary’s Center, the National Hispanic Council of Aging (NHCOA), and the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA). The event will feature access to COVID-19 testing and vaccinations, health screenings and resources, games, Zumba, snacks, and more!
During the event, LULAC is hosting a cafecito in partnership with the All of Us Research Program to discuss the mental health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on communities of color as well as the unique mental health needs of the DMV area’s large undocumented, Spanish-speaking, immigrant, and refugee community. The discussion will feature speakers from multicultural organizations and will be held in English and Spanish.
The All of Us Research Program, led by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is inviting one million people across the U.S. to help build one of the most diverse health databases in history. Researchers will use the data to learn how our biology, lifestyle, and environment affect health, which may lead to better health care for you, your family, your community, and generations to come.
