Washington, DC. — TEDxMidAtlantic returns to Washington, DC’s Sidney Harman Hall on
Saturday, June 8th with 19 dynamic thought leaders, innovators, and changemakers slated to
speak at the full-day conference. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on the TEDx MidAtlantic website.

The theme for this year’s event: Terra Incognita, is the term that mapmakers used to describe
unknown lands where they warned, "here be dragons". “We think this theme is an apt
description of our current moment,” said event co-producer Dave Troy. “As we sail into
uncharted waters — where reality is changing faster than our legal systems, institutions, and
our capacity for sense-making — we are truly living in Terra Incognita. And what more
appropriate city for this theme in an election year than our nation’s capital.”

"We believe in the power of ideas to change the world," said co-producer Nate Mook.

In addition to the powerhouse lineup of speakers, this year, TEDxMidAtlantic will be partnering
with the TED Democracy initiative, which seeks to highlight emerging ideas and thinkers that
