Emory Douglas is a political artist and activist. The former Minister of Culture and Revolutionary Artist for the Black Panther Party, he helped define the aesthetics of protest at the height of the Civil Rights era. Since the 1960s, his work has flawlessly translated complex political issues into powerful, accessible, and globally resonant illustration.
