AUDITIONS FOR CHURCH HILL THEATRE’S PERFORMANCES OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL

AUDITIONS FOR CHURCH HILL THEATRE’S PERFORMANCES OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL
Starting as a zoom holiday offering during covid, CHT’s production of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic is by now a strong local tradition. Some cast members may never give up their parts, but there are plenty of roles for new actors. This year’s directors, Kat Melton and Cavin Moore, also plan to pep up the choreography, so acting, singing and/or dancing abilities are needed.
Auditions will be held at Church Hill Theatre at 6 pm on Tuesday, November 4, Thursday, November 6 and Friday, November 7. There will be 4 performances from December 19-21, with shows at 7:30 pm on Friday and Saturday and at 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The parts available follow:
Scrooge: the bah-humbug miser who must learn the true meaning of Christmas.
Fred/ Young Scrooge: a double role. A younger man with some basic dance skills.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cratchit: Tiny Tim’s parents. Old enough to have a houseful of kids.
Ghost of Christmas Present: larger-than-live and scary. Any age.
Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig: Scrooge’s joyful and generous former associates. He dances!
Young Belle: She was engaged to Scrooge but wisely chose another. She dances!
Two gentlemen, several children, and a variety of other ensemble characters: Londoners who may dance, sing or say a few words. A great opportunity for first-time actors.
Wear comfortable clothes and be prepared for a bit of everything at the auditions. Actors of any age are welcome in this show. The theater is located at 103 Walnut Street in Church Hill Maryland. Please call the office at 410-556-6003 or consult the CHT website at churchhilltheatre.org for more information.
