Air Lines
Air Lines
Air Dance Bernasconi presents Air Lines, a conglomeration of aerial dances that tell movement stories using poetry, metaphor, spoken word and visual projections with a variety of aerial feats to enlighten and celebrate human expression. ADB will perform on various apparatus including single point trapeze, aerial silks, lyra, and more. Air Lines centers around the artists lineage/heritage and “My Grandfather’s Hands” is one of the highlights of the show. Bernasconi’s grandfather and great grandfather migrated from Italy to the US through Ellis Island making their way to Barre, Vermont in the early 1900’s as granite workers (sculptors, stone cutters, and polishers), employed at Rock Of Ages in Barre, Vermont, considered the largest granite quarries in the world. Ernesto Bernasconi was a granite sculptor who helped sculpt the Greek Goddess Ceres, Goddess of agriculture and fertility. This 25 ton Goddess adorns the outside of Union Station in Washington, D.C.
