U.S. Marines, bolstered by hundreds of Iraqi soldiers, prepare for a full-scale assault on the insurgent stronghold of Fallujah. Americans troops have sealed off roads around the city, where jets and artillery are pounding suspected insurgent targets.
American commanders expect the battle to begin within the next few days. In the meantime, forces have much to do. NPR's Anne Garrels reports.
