The Star-Spangled Spectacular

A month from now, Baltimore will be in the midst of another much-anticipated event -- the 200th anniversary celebration of the Star-Spangled Banner. Here in the birthplace of the National Anthem, all kinds of grand activities are planned, including the return of the Blue Angels and tall ships. We’ll hear all about the September events and what they commemorate -- the successful defense of Baltimore from a British attack two centuries ago. Our guests: Former Washington Post Reporter Steve Vogel, author of "Through the Perilous Fight: Six Weeks That Saved the Nation"; Vince Vaise, director of Interpretation at Fort McHenry; and Bill Pencek, executive director of the Maryland War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission.
