Death To The Blue Laws!

Back in the 1930s, Baltimore's retail stores and much of the city itself was shut down on Sunday in strict observance of Baltimore City's "Blue Laws."

The movement, with a mission to preserve the Sabbath for rest and prayer, was led by a fiery preacher named Rev. W.W. Davis.  When he died--and the big out-of-town retailers moved in--the Blue Laws died, too.
