Car Choices in Upscale Zip Codes - 5/1/15

What you drive says a lot about you, at least that’s according to an analysis of data sourced from credit-reporting firm Experian.  The analysts looked at the most popular luxury cars in some of America’s most upscale zip codes.  As reported in the Wall Street Journal and in other media outlets, the analysis reveals some district regional preferences.  For instance, in the 90210 zip code of Beverly Hills, California, car purchasers love their Mercedes, whether the S, E or C Class.

By the way, the median home value in 90210 is four point four million dollars.  In ritzy areas of San Francisco Bay, they love their Teslas.  In the 94027 zip code, the median home is worth four point eight million dollars.  In the 10013 of New York encompassing Tribeca and Soho, the most popular car is the BMW Xfive.  They also love their Range Rovers there.

The data indicate that car choices are associated with more than geography.  For instance, owners of Audi Qfives tend to be big nightclub goers while those who purchase an Acura MDX tend to favor family gatherings.  Owners of BMW Xfives disproportionately like bowling.
