The Game Believes In You

In today’s age of computers, smart phones and tablets, kids are constantly navigating the digital world, especially the world of games. But do video games have a place in the classroom? USA Today’s national education reporter Greg Toppo thinks the answer is a resounding “yes.” Toppo’s new book, “The Game Believes in You,” takes a look at how teachers are embracing technology and using digital play to their advantage. Ahead, we hear how one teacher turned fantasy football into fantasy geopolitics, how a group of high schoolers staged their own digital opera, and how a game designer created a virtual version of Walden Pond for players to explore.
