Maryland’s General Assembly will once again take up the issue of guaranteeing paid sick leave for workers, just as President Obama has unveiled his own proposal to do the same. In Maryland, over half a million workers do not earn sick leave, meaning that they have to make a choice – continue to work while they are ill or risk losing their job. Our guests: Elizabeth Torphy-Donzella, general counsel for the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, who serves on the Chamber's Legislative Committee and the Employment Relations Task Force; and Jason Perkins-Cohen, executive director of the Jobs Opportunities Task Force.
