Reporter Alec MacGillis joins Tom in-studio to discuss his recent piece "The Third Rail"that connects Baltimore’s failed public transportation system to a history of deeply rooted racial inequality.
MacGillis is an award-winning Baltimore-based reporter who covers politics for ProPublica. He was part of the team that won a Pulitzer Prize for the Washington Post for their coverage of the Virginia Tech mass shooting in 2008. He has also written for Slate, the New Republic, and the Baltimore Sun.
