The Lyric Opera Baltimore is in high form this weekend (March 11-13), staging one of the world's greatest and most beloved operas: Giaocchino Rossini’s The Barber of Seville. Steven La Brie sings the role of Figaro, Emily Fons sings the role of Rosina, the girl everybody‘s in love with, and Tom's guest today -- Alek Shrader -- sings the role of Count Almaviva, one of Rosina’s most ardent suitors. It’s a tuneful rom-com, Italian style, and Mr. Shrader has a lot of experience singing it, as he does with many other roles, in some of the world’s most prestigious opera houses, including the Metropolitan in New York City.
