Former CBS Newsman Dan Rather On What Keeps Him In The Anchor Chair

Michael Foley / Creative Commons

If you’re of a certain age and hear the name “Dan Rather,” you think immediately of CBS and his time anchoring the CBS Evening News. But, it’s been a decade since Rather left CBS, after a bitter fight over a piece about George W. Bush’s time in the National Guard, a piece that relied on documents which were not proved authentic. Rather sued CBS and its then-owner Viacom, and lost. Rather has launched a new chapter in his iconic career and tomorrow he’ll be in town to wrap up this season of the Baltimore Speakers Series presented by Stevenson University. He joins Sheilah on the phone.

Sheilah Kast is the host of On The Record, Monday-Friday, 9:30-10:00 am.
