On Wednesday, Doreen Bolger announced that she is retiring as the Director of the Baltimore Museum of Art. In an e mail to BMA patrons, she wrote, “Since last fall’s 100th anniversary celebration, I have been reflecting on milestones, the museum’s extraordinary physical transformation, and the passage of time during my 17 years as director—and realized that it was time for me to pass the baton.” She has led the BMA during a time of enormous transition, not only for the BMA, but for the entire arts scene in Maryland, and her advocacy for the arts has extended well past the walls of the museum. Doreen Bolger joins Tom Hall in the studio.
