What happens when 10,000 scientists work to slam together particles moving near the speed of light? Tom Hall asks David Kaplan, Johns Hopkins physics professor and producer of the new film, Particle Fever.

He’s a professor of particle physics at John Hopkins University and the producer, along with Mark Levinson, of Particle Fever.  This documentary chronicles the development of the Large HadronCollider.  The data that we’ve garnered by smashing particles together in this, the world’s largest machine, has led to a lot of previously unknown or unknowable answers, and it’s animated lots of new questions.

You can catch it at the Charles Theater in Baltimore.
