The search and rescue efforts continue at the site of the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in south Baltimore. In the early morning of Tuesday, a cargo ship crashed into a pier supporting the decades-old bridge and vital artery along the eastern seaboard.

The Francis Scott Key Bridge serves as a vital artery along the I-95 corridor. Portions of the bridge collapsed into the Patapsco River following the collision, choking off traffic into the port and leading officials to launch a search-and-rescue operation in the river.
