'Revenge Porn' Laws, Sandy Aid, and Orioles Up For Gold Gloves

'Revenge Porn' laws: Baltimore Co. Del. Jon Cardin is calling for a tough new law to punish people who post nude pictures of former lovers on the Internet, according to the Baltimore Sun. The Washington Post reports that Montgomery Co. Del. Bill Frick, one of Cardin's rivals for state Attorney General, is drafting similar legislation.

Marijuana sentencing: A federal judge in Maryland gave lighter sentences to two defendants in a big marijuana distribution case yesterday, opting to not follow federal sentencing guidelines. The Baltimore Sun reports that the shorter sentence is part of a larger national trend in marijuana cases.

Jos. A. Bank & Men's Warehouse: The Baltimore Business Journal reports that on Monday, Men’s Warehouse released a presentation to investors outlining why it rejected the $2.3 billion unsolicited acquisition offer from Baltimore clothier Jos. A. Bank.

Mill No. 1 development: The BBJ reports that developer Terra Nova Ventures tonight hosts a grand opening for the project, and says that construction work is 95 percent complete.

Sandy In Maryland, One Year Later: Howard County held a groundbreaking for a new backup power system for the Little Patuxent Sewage Treatment Plant, according to the Baltimore Sun. Last year, it lost electricity for more than 24 hours when Superstorm Sandy hit.

Also, The Associated Press reports that Senator Barbara Mikulski and other officials announced $19 million in Sandy aid yesterday, to be distributed based on need.
