A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 tomorrow morning for much of the listening area. Washington County and areas farther west are under a Winter Storm Warning. The total snow accumulation is likely to range between 2 inches and 6 inches for most of the listening area; Baltimore City will likely see 3 to 4 inches of snow.
Many of the region’s public schools were already scheduled to be closed to students today, but some of those that were set to be open are now changing their schedules.
Carroll County schools, Harford County schools, and Howard County schools are now closed.
Baltimore City schools are on a 2 hour delay.
Also opening 2 hours late are schools in Washington County.
Other schedule changes are also in effect. A liberal leave policy has been put in effect for state employees; essential personnel are asked to report as scheduled. And people who work for DC offices of the federal government have the option for unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework.
