Global Entrepreneurship Week ARTS 2020 is a collaboration of multiple organizations that have come together to help cultivate the local creative entrepreneur ecosystem. GEW ARTS was created in 2019 with Operation ARTS and the University of Maryland to help foster and develop a stronger Maryland-based entrepreneur network. The collaboration of events will occur virtually on 11/16, 11/18, and 11/21, please RSVP to each event accordingly to reserve your seat. We start off the week on Monday, November 16th with a workshop called “Holistic Healing and Integrative Modalities” with Janice Buerkli and Maurice Carroll of The Healing Flame Collective from 2-3 pm to discuss topics including sound healing, frequencies, internal works, meditation, crystals, reiki, and more! Then from 3-4pm Khamal Patterson with Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for The Arts will teach us the legalities of our creative work with “Copyrighting 101”. After that, both The Healing Flame Collective and Khamal Patterson with MDVLA will be providing a “Q&A on Becoming a Career Musician” from 4-5 pm. The second day of events is November 18th from 3-6pm and there will be networking, professional development workshops, and an open mic. The first speaker will be Aqila “Mimi” Benjamin of Network Your A** Off ( NYAO) who will be sharing her Brand Building Experience that teaches you the FUNDAMENTALS of Networking. Mimi is a Networking Specialist & Educator and will be presenting virtually from 3-4 pm and then live networking from 4-6 pm. The second speaker is Karin Schultz of Zone of Potential who will be presenting “YOUR music is YOUR business” from 6-7 pm where she will be teaching how to build healthy meaningful relationships with your fans and how to get the support you want. The third day of events is November 21st from 7-11 pm with Beats for a Better Tomorrow Foundation, a local nonprofit that is helping support local musicians and gig workers during the pandemic.
