UNMUTE student musician Virtual Concert for senior residents
When words fail, music speaks. When distance separates, music connects. Founded in August of 2019 and led by a small group of high school student musicians from Maryland, UNMUTE has hosted 14 in-person one-hour long live concerts performed by K-12 student-musician volunteers in the local assisted living facilities in Maryland prior to COVID-19 pandemic. Starting from April of 2020, UNMUTE desires to continually connect to senior residents by launching Virtual Concerts while combating COVID-19. Over 700 Student Musician Volunteers from the nation have been staying at home to practice, perform, and record their performance video with the hope to continually bring smiles and music to their audience. As of September 23, UNMUTE has delivered 33 weekly virtual concerts for isolated seniors. Neither virus nor social distancing can stop UNMUTE's student musicians sending their virtual hugs and music to the senior residents! Let's U-N-M-U-T-E and UNITE!
