Ocean surface temperatures have been unusually high in recent weeks, particularly in the Atlantic Ocean.

Brian McNoldy, a senior research associate at the University of Miami Department of Atmospheric Sciences, explains what’s causing these off-the-charts temperatures and what they might mean for storms and weather over the summer.
