Maryland Morning with Sheilah Kast
Tom Hall talks with former Maryland poet laureate Michael Collier about his latest collection of poems, An Individual History.
We hear often about the 1861 Pratt Street Riot and other disturbances that gave Baltimore the nickname "Mobtown." Overlooked is the Baltimore Bank Riot of 1835. University of Oklahoma historian Robert Shalhope wrote a book about it. He'll tell us what happened, and how similar the story is to the financial crisis of 2008.
Young musicians will gather in Chestertown this week for the National Music Festival. They'll perform more than 30 concerts, including Mahler's Resurrection.
