Stand Your Ground

The 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin drew national attention to racial profiling and stand-your-ground laws. In her book, “Stand Your Ground: Black Bodies and the Justice of God,” Kelly Brown Douglas, an Episcopal priest and professor of religion at Goucher College, traces the roots of stand-your-ground culture back to Black Codes and Jim Crow. She also speaks about being the mother of a son "who looks like Trayvon."
